The buyer side: no shop tab in the app
Check your region first

Worth knowing: your region is tied to the account and the SIM or network at signup, not to where you are standing right now. Travelling does not enable it, and using a VPN does not either, because payment and delivery still resolve to your registered region.
Update the app
Shop features ship in app updates. An older build simply does not contain the tab. This is the single most common fix on iPhone and iPad, where auto-update is often off.
Age and account status
TikTok Shop requires users to be 18 or over. Accounts registered with a younger birth date will not see shopping features, and this is not appealable in the app.
Log out and back in
A stale session can hide features that your account is otherwise entitled to. Log out fully, force close the app, reopen and log back in. Clearing the app cache in TikTok settings is the next step if that fails.
The quickest way to tell region from bug
Ask someone else in your country to check whether they can see the shop tab. If they can and you cannot, it is your app, account or cache. If they cannot either, it is regional and there is nothing to fix.
The seller side: my shop tab disappeared
If you are a seller and your shop or products vanished, the causes are different and more serious.
- Account Health enforcement. Since July 2026 compliance is scored through Account Health Rating. As the score falls, TikTok restricts features in stages, and product visibility is one of the first things to go. Check the Account Health page in Seller Center rather than guessing. - Listing takedowns. Individual products removed for policy reasons will disappear without the shop itself being restricted. Check the product list for rejected or removed status.
- Incomplete verification. A shop that has not finished identity or business verification can appear set up while remaining invisible to buyers.
- Payment method not bound. Shops without a valid payout method are sometimes held back from public visibility.
- Shop paused. Either by you or automatically during an extended period of unfulfilled orders.

Why did my TikTok Shop balance disappear?

Buyer balance is store credit from refunds or promotions, and it often cannot be applied to every order, which is why it appears to vanish at checkout. Before spending an hour on troubleshooting, check whether the shop tab works in a browser at the TikTok website while logged into the same account. If it works there and not in the app, the problem is the app build or cache, and reinstalling fixes it in minutes.
What actually will not fix it
- A VPN. Region is resolved from account and payment data, not from your IP.
- Creating a second account. If the region is unsupported the new account will be too.
- Reinstalling repeatedly. Once is diagnostic. Beyond that you are repeating a test that already failed.
- Contacting support about region availability. Support cannot enable a market that has not launched.
